Garden of Life Dr Formulated Probiotic Review
Garden of life is a well-known company known for its dietary supplements that include vitamins, collagen, CBD, proteins, fish oil, herbals, and probiotics.
Garden of Life has been selling their supplements for years, and in this article, we will review the Dr Formulated Probiotic for women developed and sold by Garden of Life.
Garden of Life Dr Formulated Probiotic is considered among the best probiotics for women’s health out there. It was created by David Perlmutter, who is a board-certified neurologist.
I will examine every aspect of this probiotic and see if the Probiotic lives up to its reputation or is merely another hyped probiotic supplement.
I will base this post on my years of experience helping clients with their gut health using probiotic bacteria.
My Overall Experience With This Dr Formulated Probiotics
My overall experience with Dr formulated probiotics was quite good as these capsules helped me with my pre-existing stomach and digestive issues.
These include gas, bloating, and the yeast infection that has kept me annoyed for some time now. (1)
Other probiotics that I took did not prove to be so of much use.
I believe that these are quite effective when compared to other probiotics, and a probable reason might be the proprietary blend of 16 probiotics along with the high CFU count of 50 billion CFUs per capsule.
I felt quite energetic after taking these probiotics for a month. Although, in the beginning, there were some side effects, which is often the case with almost all strong probiotics. (2)
Dr Formulated Women’s probiotics are ideal for a woman if you want a potent probiotic and want to use probiotics to help with any current digestive issue.
Although, I would not recommend these to someone who wants to use probiotics only for general health as first-time users may not be able to cope with the side effects.
I would give this probiotic a rating of 4 out of 5 and have not provided a 5/5 rating only due to the cost and side effects.
Please keep in mind though that despite the name, Dr Formulated is not made to treat or cure medical conditions.
Garden Of Life Dr Formulated Reviews
The vast majority of reviews for garden of life Dr Formulated are positive. The positive reviews are mostly from women who claim that the Probiotic helped them with Bacterial Vaginosis. It should be noted however that this Probiotic IS NOT intended to be a medical cure for any condition.
Like any popular Probiotic, Garde Of Life has it's 1-Star reviews as well. The vast majority of complaints come because of the plastic Garden Of Life choose to use. For some people the chemical smell this gives off and the chemical taste was enough reason to leave a 1-star review.
Where to Buy Garden Of Life Dr Formulated Probiotics?
Dr Formulated probiotics once daily capsules can be bought online and offline from several retailers such as:
You also have the option to buy them directly from the website of Garden of Life, where they are priced $34.39 for a bottle of 30 capsules worth a month’s supply.
The price at Amazon is almost the same, while the Probiotic retails for a bit higher price of $35.79 at Walmart. It would be best if you took a capsule daily, and the cost comes out to $1.15 per dose, which is a bit high compared with other probiotics.
Garden of Life offers a guarantee to refund your purchase price if you return the Probiotic within 30 days of ordering it.
You need to contact their customer care using their customer service page, and you must provide order details such as your name, order number, item number, date of purchase, etc. to get a refund.
It is crucial that you send the item only to the address mentioned by them as any item you send to their corporate office address will not be refunded.
Garden Of Life Colon Care
Colon Care is a new probiotic from Garden of life in 2022. The consumer reviews look promising and so was my own experience. It has a massive 33 different probiotic strains and 50-billion CFU. It's potent and you only need to take one capsule per day which is useful.
Dr Fromulated Probiotics Ingredients and Strains
Each capsule of Dr Formulated Probiotic contains the following ingredients and probiotic strains:
A single capsule has 40 billion CFUs of their lactobacillus strains, while the bifido strains account for another 10 billion CFUs.
As you can see, this is quite a potent probiotic that combines many strains not commonly found in other probiotic supplements.
Dr Formulated Probiotic Side Effects & Allergies
The Probiotic is free from most known allergens as it is certified to be gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, non-GMO. All the ingredients used in these probiotic capsules have been derived from plants only, and this is a vegan certified probiotic.
If you are looking for another gluten-free Probiotic, I would recommend Nature's Bounty since I had a good experience with that.
You need to note that this is a potent probiotic supplement and must be taken only if you need a strong probiotic. I suffered from some side effects such as bloating, stomach cramps for the first week, and slowly my side effects subsided from the 2nd week onwards.
This probiotic supplement may be too intense for some people, so think carefully before taking it. In case you suffer from strong side effects, then it would be better to discontinue its use.
How Does It Compare To Others In The Market?
I wanted to see how Garden Of Life Probiotics stood up with other big hitters in the market. I did some research and did some comparisons against 3 popular choices.
Culturelle
While they Garden Of Life & Culturelle have positive customer reviews and are available for purchase both online and offline, there are some differences between the two.
Culturelle offers various types of probiotic products for different health issues, while Garden of Life focuses on digestive health. Culturelle Digestive Daily Probiotic Capsules contain Lactobacillus Rhamnosus GG and Inulin Prebiotic Fiber, while Garden of Life Dr Formulated Probiotic contains a proprietary blend of 16 probiotics with a high CFU count of 50 billion CFUs per capsule.
Culturelle products are generally more affordable, with the cheapest being the kid's gummies at $16.99 and the most expensive being the IBS support at $32.99. Garden of Life products tend to be more expensive, with the Dr Formulated Probiotic costing around $40 for a 30-day supply.
Both brands have positive customer reviews, with Culturelle Digestive Daily Probiotic Capsules having an impressive 4.7 out of 5-star rating on Amazon, and Garden of Life Dr Formulated Probiotic having a 4.5 out of 5-star rating.
Total Restore
Total Restore is designed to support gut health and combat digestive issues by strengthening the cells of the gut lining and protecting against the effects of lectins. On the other hand, Garden of Life Dr Formulated Probiotic is a probiotic supplement that contains a blend of live bacteria that can help improve digestion and promote a healthy balance of gut bacteria.
Both however have natural ingredients and positive customer reviews, but they differ in terms of their primary function and formulation. Total Restore does not contain probiotics, while Garden of Life Dr Formulated is a probiotic supplement that contains a blend of live bacteria. Total Restore also focuses on repairing and protecting the gut lining, while Garden of Life Dr Formulated Probiotic focuses on restoring the balance of gut bacteria.
It's important to note that both supplements have different indications and are not interchangeable. Total Restore may be more beneficial for people with leaky gut syndrome, while Garden of Life Dr Formulated Probiotic may be more suitable for those looking to improve their gut bacteria balance.
Mary Ruth
Mary Ruth's Liquid Probiotic and Garden of Life's Dr. Formulated Probiotic have some key differences with the main one being Mary Ruth's contains 12 probiotic strains and a CFU count of 625,000 per full spray. Garden of Life's Dr. Formulated Probiotic has a proprietary blend of 16 probiotic strains and a high CFU count of 50 billion CFUs per capsule.
Mary Ruth's Liquid Probiotic contains alfalfa grass, while Garden of Life's Dr. Formulated Probiotic has organic prebiotic fiber. The alfalfa grass, is a more unique and higher quality ingredient in my opinion.
The price of Mary Ruth's Liquid Probiotic is around $44.95 while Garden of Life's Dr. Formulated Probiotic is noted to be around $34 so you can save a little bit by going with Garden Of Life instead of something more premium.
Final Thoughts
I liked this probiotic and would rate it higher than other probiotics. Doctor Formulated Once Daily Women's Probiotics may not be the cheapest one out there, but it is undoubtedly among the most effective probiotics that I have taken.
I noticed an improvement in my digestion, health, and felt more energetic when I took it for a month, which I think was from an improved immune system since I stopped getting sick so often.
I would recommend it to people who want to try a strong probiotic, but not to ones who have never taken probiotics before as the side effects may be too much for a first-time probiotic user.
If you suffer from some serious digestive issues, then this may be the right probiotic supplement for you, but it's NOT a cure for your medical conditions.
Probiotic Review Girl's Recommendation
You might think I'm crazy...
Most probiotic supplements suck.
I know this from experience. Since launching Probiotic Review Girl in 2019, I bought and tested over 27 different probiotic brands.
I got burned so many times that I eventually did something "crazy"...
At the end of 2021, I launched my own probiotic supplement.
No more stressing about low cfu counts and wether or not the probiotic capsule will survive my stomach acid. I finally have a probiotic supplement I KNOW will work the way I want it too.
I use it everyday after years of battling Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), I now have my energy and social life back!
The positive news? I have made my probiotic supplement available to Probiotic Review Girl readers and you can experience the gut health benefits yourself.
