Dr Stern Rebalance Probiotic Review

As a vegan, it is often challenging for me to find probiotics. This is because probiotics are usually found in dairy foods.

There are probiotic supplement products available on the market. However, a lot of them are unfortunately not vegan-friendly - even capsules that contain only vegan ingredients are sometimes made of gelatine themselves!

In my search for an effective vegan probiotic supplement, I have tried pretty much every vegan probiotic out there. Recently I have tried and reviewed Naturenetics, Naturelo and Belive which I was quite impressed with.

One product that I hadn’t tried until recently was Dr Stern’s Rebalance Probiotic, which I heard about online and decided to try.

Here is my 2021 review of Dr Stern’s Rebalance Probiotic.

Who is Dr Ian Stern?

Dr Ian Stern

Dr Ian Stern is a nutritionist and chiropractor for over 20 years.

He has specialised in using natural ingredients and remedies to assist patients with chronic pain and disease.

He founded his Dr Stern range of health supplements to bring these remedies to a wider variety of people.

Dr Stern’s website sells supplements for promoting healthy sleep, digestion, joint pain, and boosting immunity.

The prices of the supplements are reasonable, and there are also frequent offers (such as free shipping on orders over $75) and discounts available, especially when you subscribe to regular deliveries of your product of choice. There is also a 100% 60-day money-back guarantee. One bottle of rebalance is $39.47 but is currently out of stock.

Rebalance Probiotic Ingredients & Strains

At first, I wasn’t sure if the Rebalance Probiotic was in fact vegan due to some confusion on the product’s box after it had arrived - however, I found an Amazon Question that reached out to Dr Stern for clarification. He provided the following response, showing that the product is indeed suitable for vegans.

Dr Stern Confirmed It Is Vegan.

The product contains a blend of 12 different probiotic strains, plus a prebiotic and l-glutamine, listed below:

  • L-acidophilus
  • L-bulgaricus
  • L-casei
  • L-salivarius
  • L-paracasei
  • L-fermentum
  • L-plantarum
  • L-rhamnosus
  • S-thermophilus
  • B-bifidum
  • B-infantis
  • B-lactis
  • L-glutamine
  • Inulin prebiotic (acts as fuel for the probiotics)

The product also contains no animal products, GMOs, additives, fillers, or inactive ingredients, and is developed in a climate-controlled facility.

Dr Stern Probiotic Reviews

While researching this product, I decided to check some online reviews to see what I was in for. Some reviewers on Amazon noted great effects of this product on reducing bloating, as well as increasing regularity of bowel movements.

A few reviewers noted inflammation - perhaps because some people are intolerant to inulin - although the vast majority of reviewers reported very positive effects from the product.

Final Thoughts

The Dr Stern Probiotic arrived quickly and in all of the correct packaging. I started to take one capsule a day for the first few days to see if I experienced any side effects.

Bowel movements were slightly more frequent at first, but apart from this, I suffered from no ill effects. After a few days, I increased to the recommended dose of two capsules a day. (1)

After two weeks, I noticed positive results with my digestion, with abdominal pain and bloating significantly reduced.

I was surprised by this as this was noticeably faster than most other probiotics that I have tried! Aside from a slight increase in bowel movements and gas in the first week or so, which is expected with a new probiotic supplement, I encountered no drawbacks.

I would recommend this product as a great vegan probiotic - this is why I placed it in my Best Vegan Probiotics of 2021 guide
